New Opportunity Mechanical Engineer

NES Fircroft is actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer for our client, a major Petrochemical Manufacturer located in Monaca, PA just north of Pittsburgh.  This position would be a full-time long-term contrat opportunity with the site, and our client is open to more junior-level candidates as well as experienced engineers.

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct regular inspections and assessments of mechanical systems and equipment to identify areas for improvement and maintenance needs.
  2. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
  3. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and coordinate with maintenance teams to address and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize plant performance, improve efficiency, and reduce operational costs.
  5. Participate in the design and implementation of equipment upgrades, modifications, and new installations.
  6. Provide technical support and guidance to maintenance personnel and operators to ensure safe and proper operation of equipment.
  7. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory of spare parts.
  8. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and regulations related to mechanical engineering and plant operations.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  2. 3 years of experience in a maintenance or engineering role within an industrial plant setting, preferably in the petrochemical or polymer industry.
  3. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and processes, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
  4. Experience with preventive maintenance practices, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and condition monitoring techniques.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  7. Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
