Security Guard

Under supervision of the security supervisor the security guard is responsible for protecting a person, organization or asset in the case of an incident. Their duties include monitoring a specific area, evicting trespassers and writing reports detailing any occurrences during their shift. The overall duty of a security guard is to protect a company‘s property, employees and visitors.

Schedule is 8am-4:30pm Saturday and Sunday

16 hours a week

• Patrolling and monitoring activities on the company‘s premises regularly to discourage criminals and ensure the environment is safe and secure
• Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities
• Controlling the entrance and departure of employees, visitors and vehicles according to protocols .
• Logging in and out trucks, sending them to their docks and checking their seals on their way out
• 7 point inspection on trucks
• Monitoring surveillance cameras for any disruptions or unlawful activities
• Providing detailed reports to management on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred
• Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios in a clear and concise manner
• Calls police or fire departments in case of emergency, such as a fire or presence of unauthorized persons
• Performing CPR or first aid when needed

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Prior experience as a security guard
• 18 years of age or older

Certificates and Licenses

• A valid security guard card is required

• Must be able to remain calm and rational in emergencies.
• Must exhibit excellent communication skill
• Written and verbal communication

• Ability to work independently
  

• General office and winery working condition
• Required to drive automatic vehicle or equipment frequently
• Indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to the elements/temperature variations
• Exposure to weather-related temperature & humidity extremes
• Extended Hours
• Shift Rotation
• Required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Exposure to varying levels of dust, chemicals, fumes, gases, and noisy equipment
• Occasionally may be required to lift and carry cases of wine
• May need to determine color, taste and smell of wine using eyes, tongue, and nose
