Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to be based in Chelmsford, MA office.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Support the design and engineering of building heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, as well as, energy conservation and sustainability,
  • Design various mechanical systems and provisions of building services for commercial, institutional, municipal, industrial and military facilities.
  • Perform surveys to ascertain conditions of existing facilities
  • Perform studies to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of design alternatives, and recommend alternatives for implementation
  • Develop designs for a wide variety of projects, as well as, providing services during the construction phase
  • Develop technical specifications, plans, elevations, section and details
  • Prepare design related calculations
  • Verify compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards / practices
  • Coordinate with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed
  • Perform condition assessments, site visits, and construction inspections as needed

This position is expected to begin in June 2022.

Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS+ 2 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Due to the nature of the job, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• LEED Accredited Professional
• 4+ years of experience as an HVAC Engineer.
• Experience with plumbing and fire protection systems, fundamentals of engineering thermo-fluids and psychometrics.
• Experience in the water/wastewater industry
• Plumbing and fire protection design experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
