Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Commercial Power Development Market Analyst through August 7th, 2024 until 11:59 pm. (Pacific Standard Time).
Chevron Pipeline and Power (CPP) is leading the integration of renewable power along with the optimization of power solutions into upstream, midstream, and downstream assets. This position supports the comprehensive analysis of regulatory, customer and market trends associated with CPP's Power Strategy.
The Commercial Power Development Market Analyst conducts scenario modeling on market and regulatory impacts and develops pricing models for project opportunities, contributes insights to refine the power strategy within CPP to help prioritize across opportunities, customers, and geographies. Provides detailed analysis of the customer landscape (buying behavior, policy, etc.). Monitors impacts to the validity of opportunities based on customer insights, market trends, supplier relations, and regulatory/policy drivers.
This position reports to the Renewables and Power Development Commercial Manager and supports the power Commercial Advisors.
The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Work closely with Supply Chain Management (SCM) to develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and products.
- Gather, analyze, and implement market intelligence for ongoing identification and analysis of supply markets and the key drivers to support strategies and specific sourcing activities.
- Forecast and plan for future supply chain needs, considering market trends, customer demands, and company growth goals.
- Support cross-functional team and collaborate with internal organizations including legal, tax, engineering, corporate sustainability, and finance to implement renewable power solutions.
- Stay informed of the technical, market, and regulatory developments in geographical areas of responsibility and communicate key trends, risks and potential impacts to team members and management
- Perform competitor, market and policy analysis to progress origination activities needed to quantify market potential for prospective projects
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, engineering, or related fields with demonstrated commercial experience in origination, project development, vendor relations, and negotiations.
- Demonstrated experience with direct economic evaluations, working with all necessary stakeholders to ensure the proper perspective is included in the assessments.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty and work in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift rapidly.
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must have good communication skills and work well with other stakeholders, with demonstrated successful communication of complex information to identify important data and convey key messages and actions.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple tasks with limited supervision.
Travel (approx. 5-10% of time) to project sites in Texas, California, and/or international locations. Typical trips are 2-7 days long.
