AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Water, Wastewater Engineer to be based in Houston, TX.

This position is expected to begin in Jan 2023.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of water and wastewater treatment and conveyance infrastructure related assignments that require the application of standard engineering practices and techniques.
  • Prepares plans, specifications, cost estimates, and calculations related to design and construction of projects under the supervision of mid and senior level engineers.
  • Assist in coordinating and/or directing the work of design staff.
  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.
  • Coordinates with regulatory agencies.
  • Perform fieldwork activities such as site visits and pilot testing.
Minimum Requirements
  • BS Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Engineer-in-Training Certification.
  • Course work or Internship and/or Co-op experience with focus on water and wastewater engineering.
  • Familiarity/ experience with AutoCAD, Civil3D, or Revit.
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work well in teams.
  • Flexible – can adapt to shifting priorities / work schedules.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Participate as member of professional and technical societies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Additional Information:

  • Relocation per diem is not available for this position.
