Job Title: School Counselor

Location: Clarksburg CA

Position Overview: The School is seeking a compassionate and experienced School Counselor to join our team. The School Counselor will play a vital role in supporting the academic social and emotional wellbeing of our students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in counseling and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Student Support and Counseling:

    • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address personal social emotional and academic issues.
    • Develop and implement intervention strategies to help students overcome challenges and succeed academically.
    • Work with students to set personal and academic goals and provide guidance on achieving them.
    • Support students in crisis situations offering immediate assistance and referrals to outside resources when necessary.
  2. Academic and Career Guidance:

    • Assist students in developing academic plans that align with their goals and interests.
    • Provide information and support regarding college and career options helping students understand the pathways available to them.
    • Collaborate with teachers to identify students who may need additional academic support and develop appropriate intervention plans.
  3. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with teachers administrators and parents to support student success and address any concerns.
    • Participate in student support teams IEP meetings and other collaborative efforts to ensure comprehensive care for students.
    • Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians keeping them informed about their childs progress and any concerns.
  4. Program Development and Implementation:

    • Develop and deliver classroom lessons on topics such as socialemotional learning conflict resolution and decisionmaking.
    • Plan and implement schoolwide programs that promote a positive school climate and address issues such as bullying mental health awareness and college readiness.
    • Coordinate with community organizations to bring additional resources and support to students and families.
  5. Record Keeping and Compliance:

    • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
    • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations regarding student privacy and counseling services.
    • Prepare reports and documentation as required by the school administration.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in School Counseling Psychology or a related field.
  • Valid California Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) Credential in School Counseling.
  • Experience working with elementaryaged students in a counseling or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development socialemotional learning and academic guidance.
  • Excellent communication organizational and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students parents teachers and administrators.

Work Schedule:

  • Fulltime position following the academic calendar.
