Electrical Maintenance Technician

Job Overview:
We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our facility team contributing to the upkeep and optimization of steel mill equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of honesty integrity and a strong sense of ownership in their work. The role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mill systems and equipment while identifying and implementing innovative solutions to improve the steelmaking process. This position requires working weekends holidays rotating shifts and overtime (both scheduled and unscheduled). Safety is a top priority and candidates must show a commitment to upholding safety protocols procedures and housekeeping standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including 480V motors and controls.
- Contribute to a safe work environment by following safety policies and procedures.
- Proactively identify and resolve issues proposing improvements for process efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure effective teamwork and mutual trust.
- Maintain clear and effective communication within the team and with other departments.
- Demonstrate accountability and attention to detail in all tasks.
- Utilize PLC systems for troubleshooting and programming beyond just installation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of industrial or military electrical maintenance experience.
- Strong experience with troubleshooting 480V motors and controls.
- Proficiency in using PLC systems for troubleshooting and program modifications.
- Ability to work rotating shifts weekends holidays and overtime as needed.
- Must be able to demonstrate a commitment to safety in all work activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A 2year or 4year degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Recommendations from previous supervisors or managers.
- Capability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Additional Details:
- This is a fulltime noncontract position based outside Louisville Kentucky and requires relocation.
- Candidates should be aware of the need to relocate before applying.
