As an Equipment Operator II, you will utilize those special talents to:Operate backhoes, crane trucks, excavators, and vacuum trucks.Repair water mains; repair, replace, or install fire hydrants and water valves.Technical work relating to the repair, installation, and maintenance of a Water Distribution Systems and the Department of Public Utilities.

This position is deemed an Alpha position so you must have the ability to work in any emergency situations due to weather or operational issues. Must be available for inclement weather, mandatory standby duty, and overtime as needed.

Position requires a Class A CDL with tanker endorsement and is subject to Random Drug/Alcohol Testing. Some night work may also be required. Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Required Qualifications VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Requires completion of 10th grade in high school. A high school diploma, GED, OR specialized vocational training is preferred.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
Requires a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is in compliance with the.
A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.

Ability to add a tank truck endorsement within six months of hire, if you do not already have it.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
In addition to satisfying the vocational/education standard, this position requires a minimum of six months of related, full-time equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications Note: you must have a current Class A CDL license with the ability to add a tank truck endorsement within six months of hire, if you do not already have it.
