This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Duties
Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: The Nurse Manager, Chemotherapy Infusion Clinic (NM/CIC) is responsible to the Chief Nurse, Outpatient and Specialty Care Services. The NM/CIC demonstrates performance and leadership that is broad enough to improve care for a group of patients. Provides an environment that fosters employees to perform to their full potential. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, setting priorities, and preparing schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and the requirements of the assignments, and the capabilities of subordinates. Evaluates the performance of subordinates. Makes recommendations for appointments, advancements, or reassignments of subordinates. Gives advice, counsel, or instruction to subordinate personnel on work and administrative matters. Receives and resolves complaints of subordinates and referring more serious complaints not resolved to higher level supervisors. Recommends and/or taking disciplinary action where appropriate. Identify developmental and training needs of subordinates and providing or making provision for such development and training (VA Handbook 5007, Part 111, Chapter 8).
