Job Purpose
Responsible for designing, following manufacture and processing of stamping dies for North American mass production facilities with outputs in the form of 3D models while working closely with customers and internal team members to ensure high quality parts and production stability.
Key Accountabilities
Design new model stamping dies utilizing CAD softwareInvestigate improvements or countermeasure tooling related problems during die builds, trials, and mass productionSet processing for new model panels for manufacturabilityDesign Project Leader of stamping tools for new model projectsFollow and check in house and supplier designsInstallation of stamping tools at North American plantsInvestigate and implement business related improvement items
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or Manufacturing Engineering, Associate’s Degree with 2 years of additional relevant experience, or 4 years of additional relevant experience with no degreeAt least 3 years stamping or tooling design experienceCAD software experienceMechanical/manufacturing knowledge
Workstyle
50% office environment: sitting for extended periods and working on PC equipment40% manufacturing environment: PPE required at all times in manufacturing environment, standing for prolonged periods (up to 8hrs), occasionally lifting up to 40lbs, occasionally working inside injection machines, potential exposure to heat, occasional exposure to dust, oil or greaseUp to 10% travel required, including international (Japan, Canada, Mexico)
