Austin Health is the major provider of tertiary health services, health professional education and research across 3 campuses in the northeast of Melbourne and state-wide. Austin Health is world-renowned for its research and specialist work in mental health cancer, liver transplantation, spinal cord injuries, neurology, endocrinology and rehabilitation.

A new and exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Psychologist Grade 3 to join our Leadership Team in our Eating Disorder Program. This is a newly funded fixed term position one of which we hope will be continued as part of the growth funding attached to our Eating Disorder Program.

To be successful in this role you will need to:

• Have current registration as a psychologist with AHPRA and endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist

• Hold supervisor endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia

• Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group therapy to clients presenting with eating disorder challenges and co-morbidities.

• Participate in regular multidisciplinary team handovers, ward rounds, and meetings within the Eating Disorders Program.

• Provide brief psychology treatments, mental state examination, risk assessments, diagnostic clarification, formulations, crisis management plans and support plans and documentation of client's progress.

• Provide mentoring, supervising and clinical leadership to P2 Psychologists, Psychology students on placement and Graduate Psychologists on rotation, in conjunction with the Psychology Education Team, in Eating Disorders Program, and possibly other adult inpatient settings, as needed.

• Provide assistance with meal support and supervision

• Attend and participate in operational and clinical meetings where Senior Psychology presence is needed both within APU, MH Division and Psychology Division. 

• Be part of a strong and supportive clinical team and lead by example of the Austin values.
