Action Staffing Solutions is seeking a Shipper/Packer Lead for one of our esteemed Government clients. The position involves providing onsite services from Monday to Friday excluding recognized US holidays or facility closures due to emergencies administrative closings or Governmentdirected facility/installation closings.
There are two shifts available:
1st shift: 6:30AM through 3:00PM
2nd shift: 3:30PM through 12:00 AM
The duties of this position include:
  • Supervising the daytoday administration of the assigned operational area (production floor) and coordinating activities with other production areas.
  • Orienting new contract shipper/packers.
  • Ensuring that correct packing procedures are followed and assisting with correcting parcels that have been packed incorrectly.
  • Assisting the Facility Administrator (FA) as needed.
Applicants for this role must have the following qualifications and experience:
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • 1 year of shipping and packaging experience.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills with coworkers and staff.
  • Basic typing skills PC computer skills and a working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Fluency in English (reading understanding speaking and writing).
  • The ability to lift to 50 pounds when required.
  • The ability to push or pull up to 150 pounds on a rolling cart or using a pallet jack.
  • The ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time (810 hours) and lift repetitively.
  • An understanding of the necessary precautions when handling hazardous medications materials and hazardous waste.
  • The ability to pass a preemployment background check and drug screening.
