Job Summary:

The Arizona Department of Public Safety is seeking an experienced Audio/Visual Forensic Analyst. The successful candidate will work under general supervision, perform forensic examination, extraction, clarification, and evaluation of audio and video media for use in criminal or administrative investigations and court proceedings. Perform related duties as assigned. This is a competitive classification.

Requires a high school diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience in audio/video forensics and/or computer programming, computer systems analysis, criminal investigations, intelligence analysis, or closely related experience. Possession of a Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) certification or an equivalent certification from another organization may substitute for the required experience. 


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Work is primarily performed in an office setting. 

May be required to carry up to 40 pounds.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Arizona driver license.

Travel (in and out of state) may be required to perform certain work functions.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Will be required to respond to crime scenes and work varying, irregular hours, or rotating shifts to include weekends, holidays, callouts, and overtime.

Must have or obtain Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) Forensic Video Technician certification within eighteen months (1.5 years) of hire.

Must have or obtain Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) Video Analyst certification within five (5) years of hire.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

Applicants must complete an examination process. A polygraph and background investigation are required for successful applicants. DPS supports a drug-free work environment through pre-employment drug testing.
