Description

Griswold Law is seeking a Senior Paralegal to assist with our growing receivership practice.This is an opportunity to join a boutique law firm operating in the dynamic area of receivership law.

The responsibilities of this position will vary day-to-day from standard paralegal duties (such as filing and service in Courts across the state of California, drafting court documents and correspondence) to specific receivership tasks (such as preparing oaths and bonds and monthly receivership reports). The Senior Paralegal will also lead and manage the team's junior paralegals and legal assistants. The Senior Paralegal will work closely with the Staff Receivers and Operations Team to timely execute the day-to-day tasks for each receivership project.

The Senior Paralegal will receive substantial training that will be customized to learn the ins and outs of receiverships while applying their existing skills as a paralegal. A successful candidate will have general civil litigation experience, supervisory experience, as well as an ambitious desire to participate in the ongoing growth of our team.

Responsibilities

Filing and service of pleadings in all CA counties and some Federal courts (including e-filing)
Reviewing Court orders for pertinent information
Overseeing the firm calendar
Preparing monthly receivership reports
Drafting legal documents, including notices and standard receivership pleadings
Drafting correspondence
Reviewing and proofreading legal documents prepared by attorneys, gathering and organizing exhibits, and preparing documents for filing and service
Managing junior paralegals and legal assistants, including supervising ongoing work and developing and executing the training plan for future hires
Billable time entry

Qualifications

3-4 years of paralegal experience in civil litigation
Previous experience in a senior paralegal role or demonstrated progression of responsibilities within a paralegal position
Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to provide guidance and support to junior paralegals and support staff
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize
Reliable and highly self-motivated individual who holds him/herself accountable for goals and deadlines
Ability to work collaboratively with the team
Prior experience in real property, land use, municipal, business, judgment enforcement and/or bankruptcy litigation preferred
Position is Full-Time, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, working in a physical office. Possibility for a hybrid schedule
