Description

Hennepin County's Initial Contact and Access area is seeking a Senior Social Worker who is bilingual in both English and Spanish to join the team. These teams assist Hennepin County residents gain access to cultural and linguistically appropriate services and supports their needs that allow them to live healthy, safe, stable, and independent lives.

Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed on-site at the South Minneapolis Human Services Center, 2215 East Lake Street, Minneapolis, MN 55407, a Hennepin County Human Services site closest to their residence, and remote as job duties require. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, with typical hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the occasional evening and weekend hours. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in or relocate to Minnesota or Wisconsin.

New employees who are hired into remote or hybrid positions between January 2, 2022 to December 31, 2024, will receive  $500  toward the cost of establishing consistent internet connectivity, payable upon completion of 6 months of employment.

In this position you will:

Interview, assess, and perform case evaluations of a person to determine individual needs and establish appropriate treatment/service goals.  Make field visits to individual's homes and/or community settings.  Utilize bilingual skills and abilities to facilitate transactions in the community and county settings. Use of bilingual skills may include interpretation and/or translation services. Prepare and maintain documentation, including case records, case findings, correspondence, plans and reports.  Work with contracted agencies to provide technical assistance in resolving programmatic and system problems. Provide oversight to assure that individuals receive quality case management services. Design and follow through on intensive long or short-term service/treatment plans. Provide counseling to families and individuals. Need to have: One of the following:Licensed as a Graduate Social Worker by the Minnesota Board of Social Work.Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or human services, and  at least 18 semester (27 quarter) credits of graduate work in the below areas, and three years or more of full-time supervised experience as a social worker.Master's degree or higher in social work or closely related field with course work emphasis in areas such as social work methods, human growth and behavior, and principles of social welfare. Ability to communicate fluently in Spanish in addition to English, both verbally and in writing. A valid driver's license, ability to obtain a Hennepin County drivers permit,and daily access to reliable transportation to transport clients (including children), to travel to a variety of Hennepin County offices and community locations, and to visit clients in residential settings. Nice to have:
Experience:Providing home and community-based services.Providing case management as a professional social worker.Providing counseling to families and individuals.Working with the Spanish-speaking community.  Bilingual candidates who pass a language assessment may qualify for additional differential bilingual pay and duties.
