Duties

Receives and dispatches assigned or transient tactical and logistical aircraft and crews at the base. Provides managers and/or pilots with daily or more frequent briefings, detailed aircraft resource order information and verifies the validity of information prior to dispatch. Provides or arranges transportation, lodging and meals for transient flight crews. Coordinates base training and serves as an instructor for courses in aviation safety, air tanker capabilitiesand limitations, retardant mixing and quality control and air tanker, air attack base operations. Establishes safety procedures and guidance for ramp operations, and retardant mixing and loading. Provides frequent safety/operational procedure briefings to pilots, contractors, and base personnel. Identifies and recommends base budgetary needs, including recommendations for equipment, supplies, and training necessary for safe and efficient base operations. Acquires supplies and materials through the agency procurement process.
