About the role

The HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems within the facility. This role involves troubleshooting system issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring optimal performance of all HVAC units. The technician will work closely with the facility maintenance team to ensure a safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment for all occupants. This position requires a strong understanding of HVAC systems, technical expertise, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This role is located at our Corsicana, TX site.

Essential Functions

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air handlers, boilers, chillers, pumps, and control systems.
  • Conduct routine preventative maintenance to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably.
  • Diagnose and resolve HVAC issues using appropriate tools and methods.
  • Monitor HVAC performance and recommend improvements or upgrades to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members on broader facility operations and emergency repairs.
  • Maintain accurate service records, reports, and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all work activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Prior facilities maintenance experience or relevant operation experience is preferred.
  • Supporting team goals and assisting colleagues.
  • Adjusting to changing priorities and work conditions.
  • Knowledge of Hand tools (screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers).
  • Knowledge of Power tools (drills, saws).
  • Learning new techniques and technologies.
  • Ability to work in various positions and environments (e.g., standing, kneeling, climbing ladders).
  • Lifting and carrying heavy objects.
  • Ensuring all work meets quality and safety standards.
  • Noticing small issues before they become major problems.
  • Prioritizing tasks.
  • Scheduling maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
  • Knowledge of different types of building materials.
  • Building System knowledge: HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) electrical systems, plumbing, fire safety systems, building automation systems.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED; HVAC certification or relevant trade school training.
  • Proven experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and control systems related to HVAC.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
