UI Policy & Procedures Analyst 1 (Legal Analysis Spec 1)

The Georgia Department of Labor is currently seeking applicants to fill multiple UI Policy & Procedures Analyst 1  positions in the  UI Policy & Procedures Department  at the Georgia Department of Labor Headquarters in downtown Atlanta, GA. 

These are twelve-month time-limited positions with benefits.

Essential Function and Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, reviews and verifies wage and employment documentation submitted by program applicants to determine validity and adequacy. Conducts fact-finding interviews with applicants to gather pertinent information and release program eligibility determinations. Performs follow-up tasks in support of investigation activities. Duties may be complex in nature and may involve access to confidential UI information. 

Required Skills/Abilities

Ability to use proper and effective investigative and interview techniques Experience generating and managing high-volume, detailed work, requiring critical thinking skills Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills  Ability to comprehend, retain and apply information and multi-task Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite

Preferred Qualification

Two years of experience filing and/or processing UI claims  Two years of experience conducting Benefit Eligibility Reviews (BERs) and rendering UI eligibility determinations Two years of experience interpreting and applying UI benefits and/or tax laws, rules and regulations

Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, public administration or related area from an accredited college or university OR Three years of experience in the related area.
