Job Duties

This position will provide pharmaceutical services to the hospital, which includes: Interpreting medication orders; Distribution of medication to patients; Providing drug information for patients and other healthcare professionals; Reviewing therapy regimens to ensure the safest, most efficacious, cost effective medications are used to improve patient care.

Minimum Qualifications

Licensed Pharmacist in good standing in the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy.

Experience working in an in-patient hospital pharmacy department.

Must possess skills related (but not limited) to medication distribution, drug informatics, IV admixture, order entry, pharmacokinetics, automated pharmacy dispensing, control medication inventory, and supervision of pharmacy technicians.

Good organizational and communication skills are also required.

Additional Considerations

Experience working in a secure and locked environment with individuals who are experiencing acute symptoms of mental illness and/or additional forensic/legal involvement.
