Job DescriptionJob Description

De Cillo Equine Clinic is a full service Equine Veterinary Clinic and Hospital. Our hours are Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, Saturday 8 AM - 5 PM. The hospital is open 24/7 for emergencies. The hours for this position are 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday and some Saturdays 8 AM to noon. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that all admitted patients' treatment plans are recorded in patient file, treatment books, and electronic records
  • Communicate frequently with attending Veterinarians for updates to treatment plans
  • Attend daily rounds with Veterinarians, Vet Techs, and Interns
  • Ensure that any changes to treatment plans are updated in patient file, treatment books, and electronic records
  • Check patient invoices daily to ensure up to date with correct charges
  • Follow up with Veterinarians and staff if corrections or additions are needed
  • Communicate with Attending Veterinarians daily to find out which horses are being discharged and get discharge instructions where needed
  • Gather all medications required for discharge
  • Complete patient invoices and secure Veterinarians' approval on each invoice
  • Communicate invoice status to clinic Receptionist
  • Greet Owner/Trainer/Hauler upon arrival, explain discharge instructions, and walk horse to trailer for loading and remain until Owner leaves
  • Field questions from office staff regarding patient invoices and records
  • Restock Vet Tech Drug Room
  • Other responsibilities as needed

Advanced Experience with handling horses required (own or lease a horse and ride daily OR within the last 2 years, must have taken advanced lessons or competed in equestrian events). Starting pay depends on experience.
