Job Summary

The Senior Facilities Engineer (Offshore Operations) will play a key role in leading and overseeing the design, construction, and operational support of offshore oil and gas facilities. This position demands an experienced engineer who can provide technical leadership and project management expertise across all phases of offshore facility development and maintenance. The successful candidate will ensure that all engineering activities are executed with the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency, while also complying with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including subsea, production, HSE, and asset integrity to ensure the seamless integration of offshore operations. You will be responsible for managing complex projects, optimizing facility performance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. As a key technical authority for your asset(s), you will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that enhance the company's offshore capabilities.

This position requires a strong background in offshore engineering, a deep understanding of industry standards, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will possess excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive approach to risk management, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

The Sr Facilities Engineer (Offshore Operation) will work in our Houston Corporate office and may work two (2) days a week remote.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as the first point of contact for their respective offshore facility, providing guidance on complex engineering issues, standards, and best practices
  • Design and Engineering: Develop detailed engineering designs for offshore platforms, floating production systems, and associated infrastructure. Ensure designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. If required, provides governance and oversight to ensure engineering practices are carried out in accordance with the required technical standards, processes, and procedures while operating in compliance with regulations and corporate standards
  • Project Management: Solicit project requirements from stakeholders and develop project basis of design to meet requirements and improve operational efficiency. Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of offshore facility projects, managing resources, timelines, and budgets. Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure project objectives are met and ensure seamless handover to construction team
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all engineering work adheres to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and ensure that all necessary safety measures are implemented. The engineer will participate in, and facilitate where relevant, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, LOPAs, other risk assessments and design reviews as required. Ensure technical risks are identified and assessments conducted in accordance with the Process Safety management procedure requirements, industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Operations Support: Provide technical support for the operation and maintenance of existing offshore facilities. Troubleshoot engineering issues, recommend improvements, and oversee the implementation of upgrades and modifications
  • Regulatory Liaison: Work with regulatory bodies to obtain necessary approvals and ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations governing offshore oil and gas operations
  • Innovation and Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance the efficiency, safety, and reliability of offshore facilities. Stay updated on the latest technologies and industry trends
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed engineering reports, project documentation, and presentations for stakeholders. Ensure accurate and comprehensive records of engineering activities are maintained
  • Cost Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining high standards of engineering integrity and safety
  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders. Ensure clear and effective communication across all project phases.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and participate in emergency response planning and exercises related to offshore facilities. Provide engineering support during actual emergencies to minimize operational disruptions and ensure safety

Licenses/ Certifications

Willing to attend and be able to pass HUET (Helicopter Underwater Egress Training)

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with a Petroleum discipline
  • Minimum 9 years' experience in deep-water production operations, including offshore well intervention operations, system modeling, and exposure to process facilities operations
  • Extensive experience and working knowledge of building, matching, and troubleshooting Petex PROSPER and GAP models
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint a necessity, and preferably experience with MS Teams
  • Strong safety mentality
  • Strong communication skills with experience working in a multi-disciplinary and diverse environment
  • Possesses a collaborative nature and actively participates in teams; actively seeks continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices and procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills and the ability to work with internal and external contacts
  • Periodic travel offshore, trips could be minimum 3-days to in excess of a week, and to vendor sites required

The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
