All U.S. Citizens - No previous federal service is required. CTAP and ICTAP candidates in the local commuting area. This position is being advertised under an OPM government-wide Direct Hire authority.

Duties

Provide professional guidance in the development and implementation of multiple resource objectives. Develop fuels treatment alternatives to support management decisions while adhering to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines. Provide input and recommend strategies for fuels and fire management. Participate in the development, review, and modification of prescribed fire plans. Implement and administer prescribed fire activities, wildland fire use, and fuels management activities and surveys. Monitor fire behavior, evaluate fire effects, identify potential problems, and take appropriate action. Utilize assigned personnel to accomplish fuels workloads in an efficient manner. Identify opportunities to implement mentorship and training for others during project work, prescribed fire, and fire suppression activities.
