Formulations Scientist I

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities

• Receipt of controlled and non-controlled chemicals
• Maintain up-to-date chemical inventory
• Ensure proper storage of chemicals
• Maintain appropriate paperwork for all chemicals, including, but not limited to, MSDS; certificate of analysis; chain of custody forms or packing slips; all forms related to formulation preparation, withdrawal, disposal, etc.
• Perform solubility testing
• Perform dose formulation calculations and preparations
• Perform dose formulation analyses as needed
• Ensure chemical disposal is handled per local, state, and federal regulations
• Communicate with Study Directors, Program Managers, and analytical labs to ensure adherence to study protocols

Additional Responsibilities

• Work in a team environment with a professional and positive attitude
• Other duties as needed

Qualifications

• Education:
  1. HS Diploma or GED or A.A.S.
  2. B.S. in chemistry or related field
• Experience:
  1. 3 years in chemistry or related field
  2. 0-2 year in chemistry or related field
• Skills:
  • Ability to perform basic unit conversion calculations
  • Experience working under GLP or regulatory requirements
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills working with MS Word/Excel/Powerpoint
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment

*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person‘s relevant experience and/or education level.
