Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Certified Energy Manager to join our growing Energy Team in the Washington, DC area.

This team works on a variety of energy efficiency, resilience, and decarbonization initiatives for federal, municipal, utility, and commercial and industrial clients. This position is a task leader role on a variety of projects including energy master planning, energy efficiency, distributed generation, renewable energy, district energy systems, net-zero buildings, building decarbonization and more.

The successful candidate should be a dynamic, self-directed individual with an excellent understanding of campus energy systems, climate resiliency and sustainability. The candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver innovative energy that leverage the use of data analytics to identify, analyze, and specify energy reduction measures.

The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:​

  • Lead teams of technical subject matter experts on energy master planning and other energy projects

  • Interface regularly with clients to identify project needs, communicate solutions, and strengthen client relationships.

  • Analyze utility usage data and develop visualizations to inform decisions

  • Manage work groups and integrated project teams to facilitate energy, resiliency and sustainability objectives

  • Write technical reports to communicate findings to clients and stakeholders

  • Prepare and present findings to client and internal AECOM stakeholders.

  • Manage programs and projects of a complex nature for a variety of clients including DOD

  • Develop proposals and support with business development and client relationship building


DCS—Energy
AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to energy engineering, energy procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. Minimum Requirements
  • BA/BS in Environmental Science, Engineering or related field

  • 6+ years of directly relevant experience

  • CEM certification

  • US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master Degree in Environmental Management, Energy or related field

  • Active Top Secret Clearance strongly preferred

  • Experience with Campus Energy planning & Programs

  • Experience working with DOD agencies
