Duties

Provides the public with accurate information concerning facilities, rules and regulations, programs, emergency services points of interest (historical, cultural, and natural), travel routes, or recreational activities. Works with the public to provide information on off-highway vehicles and safety. Works well independently building relationships with partners or new neighbors. Presents a variety of interpretive or educational programs/presentations which include talks, walks, or demonstrations. Assists with the development of interpretative or educational programs/presentations by selecting and organizing material to suit the purpose of the program. Maintains recreational trails to standards of safety and ensures that signs and boundary markers are adequately posted. Enforces regulations concerning use of public land and recreational facilities through educational or interpretive techniques or makes referral to law enforcement personnel as warranted. Conducts compliance checks for permits or authorizations. Safely operates 4x4 vehicles in a desert and mountainous environment including trucks, utility terrain vehicles, all-terrain vehicles and other off-highway vehicles. Ability to respond to emergency conditions as a first responder and render aid to adults and children until emergency medical technicians/paramedics arrive. Knowledge of emergency medical techniques/methods to protect life, safety, and health of BLM employees and visitors.
