About the department:

The successful appointee will work as part of a multi-disciplinary service providing team-based care to patients under the care of Hospital in the Home (HITH) and Virtual Care whilst undertaking comprehensive learning, training and professional development in medicine.

The Unaccredited registrar will provide support and guidance to move junior doctors in the service.

About the role:

The HITH service provides care for patients to be cared for in settings other than acute hospital settings. The Registrar will be vital in providing care to patients in these settings, and to provide the admission and management of patients as well as safe discharge of patients from the HITH service.

To be successful in this role you must:

Communicate clearly and simply with patients in language that they understand, including the basis of diagnosis, the expected course of the disorder and proposed treatment options in a way that ensures they understand and empowers their involvement in decision making. Be responsive to patient and relative complaints/feedback Liaise with senior staff as required to deal with any issues brought up by patients and their families Complete appropriate documentation in patient's written and electronic hospital records Participate in oncall rosters where required and rostered
