The Pipeliner will work independently and with other personnel to maintain and operate equipment and processes in the Midstream business unit. Some of the processes involved use hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure. Typical working conditions include outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration and occasionally working from heights and confined spaces. Operators must follow safe work practices including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
This position requires the successful completion of an online assessment. Responsibilities may include:
• Performing routine pipeline maintenance.
• Ensuring accurate and timely completion of paperwork.
• Responding promptly and effectively to customer needs.
• Responding to emergencies and assisting in maintaining emergency equipment.
• Completing mandated safety and regulatory training (Computer Based Training).
• Maintaining effective and professional relationships with pipeline customers and vendors.
• Performing environmental, company and regulatory checks as necessary.
• Eliminating, containing, and reporting all product and/or crude leaks, seeps and spills.
• Monitoring and enforcing safety rules at facilities.
• Identifying and promptly communicating operational and equipment problems to supervisor and/or completing trouble reports.
• Assisting with construction and maintenance projects.
• Operating valves.
• Identifying and pursuing cost reduction opportunities.
• Performing housekeeping duties.
• Willing to work outside immediate area.
Required Qualifications:
• Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Must maintain a valid driver's license
• Safety and environmental alertness and promotes a safe work environment by complying with all procedures, rules and regulations
• Willingness and ability to perform and comply with following, with or without reasonable accommodations:
o To climb up to 20 feet using both inclined and vertical ladders
o To lift up to 69 pounds
o To push and pull forces up to 100 pounds
o To operate a forklift
o To respond to emergency calls as needed
o To remain on call as needed
o To work overtime on an as-needed basis
o To work in enclosed spaces, such as tanks and silos
o To work with chemicals and bases
o To wear personal protective equipment (such as fire-retardant clothing, steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection)
o To maintain your face so that a respirator / face mask can seal properly. (i.e., to be clean shaven (facial hair))
o To perform firefighting duties
o To work outside in harsh weather conditions
o To work with hydrocarbons that are under high pressure
Preferred Qualifications:
• 3 or more years of direct operational experience in the oil and gas industry
• Relevant Military experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and SAP
Midstream
Phillips 66's Midstream business is a safe, reliable and trusted logistics provider for the movement and storage of liquid or gas energy via pipelines or terminals. We are an industry leader in logistics and operate or manage more than 22,000 miles of pipelines that transport crude oil from oil fields to refineries and finished products from refineries to storage terminals. We operate 39 terminals that supply finished products to consumer gas stations, as well as crude oil and NGL storage terminals and NGL fractionation facilities. We also provide the connectivity between the various Phillips 66 business units.
