Job Overview:

This position resides in the of .The Information Protection Analyst assists in helping to ensure that the appropriate operational information protection posture is maintained for each of the department’s information systems. The incumbent performs a variety of duties assigned by management. Duties include implementing Information Protection (IP) policy and procedure; coordinating the identification, implementation, and assessment of the common information protection controls which includes ensuring employees are provisioned the necessary access to effectively execute their duties; evaluates and recommends measures for department operations to maintain required levels of information protection; reviews system security procedures; provides system documentation and user support to ensure the continuity and compliance of department business operations; evaluates real or suspected events within the agency; follows agency policies, standards, and procedures for evaluating and referring the investigation to other qualified entities, including law enforcement and providing resolution recommendations.This position reports directly to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and does not supervise other staff.

·Principles and practices of computer science and information systems administration

·State and department information technology processes

·Information security techniques and processes; data base auditing techniques and programs

·Computer equipment and technology systems used, or likely to be used, by the department

·Disaster recovery planning and implementation

·Network and database administration

·Customer service principles and processes including customer needs assessment

·Evaluation of customer satisfaction

·Meeting quality standards for services

Research and analysis Accuracy and attention to detail Conflict resolution & customer service Microsoft programs and other data base applications Written, verbal, and interpersonal communication

Working Conditions

Work hours may exceed 40 hours from time to time, including weekends. Office environment. Lifting is infrequent, less than 15 pounds. Some travel may be required, must have a valid driver’s license.

REMOTE/TELEWORK: This position may be eligible to work from an approved worksite within the state of Montana. This position would be required to report to a Department of Revenue office assigned by the supervisor. Employees must meet and sustain Department of Revenue telework eligibility requirements and supervisor's approval to participate in the DOR Telework Program.

Training Assignment: This agency may use a training assignment. Employees in training assignments may be paid below the base pay established by the agency pay rules. Conditions of the training assignment will be stated in writing at the time of hire.
