Job Summary:

The Office of Inspector General is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Project Manager. Under the direction of the OIG Assistant Director, this position will serve as an executive/senior project manager, working on a wide array of highly visible, priority projects for the Division and Agency. This position will plan, direct, and coordinate executive level activities as well as provide project management experience and expertise in order to ensure successful execution of the Agency's most challenging and comprehensive projects.

Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Assess project feasibility; perform research, determine program goals and develop implementation tools; design project structures to promote effective work accomplishment and set effectiveness, efficiency, productivity, management/internal control standards, and evaluate compliance to federal, state, and AHCCCS standards.
• Obtain resources necessary to achieve desired project objectives; assume responsibility for the effective use of government resources; work with the Inspector General to identify key officials both with and outside the organization to gain understanding and support for the project; interpret, understand, and analyze information concerning medically oriented programs, management information data, auditing/statistical data, and other items deemed necessary for specific project development.
• Monitor work status through formal and informal means to evaluate progress towards objectives; assess overall effectiveness, efficiency and productivity of the organization; identify, diagnose, and consult on problem areas related to implementation and goal achievement; and make decisions regarding alternative courses of action
• Lead specific projects/project teams as assigned, including but not limited to, the various federal and state audit responses for OIG, and related efforts, CMS mandated fraud, waste, and abuse programs, internal review of standards, and OIG participation on new or existing agency program integrity initiatives.
• Review staff recommendations on policies in conjunction with the DAD of Compliance in OIG and other programmatic implications developed as part of project work; consider the potential impact on political, social, economic, technical, and administrative factors and advise the work groups/team and/or the Assistant Director of possible concerns and considerations

Qualifications:

Minimum:
• Bachelor’s degree plus five or more years of experience in project coordination (or equivalent experience).

Preferred:
• Certified Project Manager.
• Experience in managed care/health care, policy/report writing, compilation and interpretation of data, investigations, and compliance audits.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees.

• Successfully pass fingerprint background check, prior employment verifications and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

• Travel may be required for State business. Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code .) AND have an acceptable driving record for the last 39 months including no DUI, suspension or revocations and less than 8 points on your license. If an Out of State Driver License was held within the last 39 months, a copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required prior to driving for State Business. Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
