Job Description

Chesapeake Parks, Recreation and Tourism is accepting applications for Fall (August – November) Internships. The Park Ranger Technician position will support the Park Rangers in providing customer service, park management, programming, conservation and general maintenance work.

Learning Objectives include:Customer service.Assists with facilitating of various programs, camps and activities.Assists with daily facility operations of concessions, campground, rentals, and store.Organize and manage recreation equipment and supplies.Perform general custodial, and grounds maintenance tasks; set -up and breakdown of various recreation equipment, tables, chairs, pop-up tents, barricades and fencing.Actively participate in programs, activities and event with diverse groups.Assists with logistical operations for various special events and activities.Processes point of sale transactions and reconciles collected funds.May prepare and sell food items.Assist Park Rangers with visitor management and enforcement of park rules and regulations. Required Qualifications Must be a college student in good academic standing, or a recent college graduate (i.e., within one year of graduation). Preferred Qualifications Requires a valid driver’s license with a driving record that complies with the

College-level education in a related field such as park management, wildlife management, natural sciences, forestry, business, marketing, management, recreation, tourism, or leisure services.
