Our Parks, Recreation, and Natural Resources department is in need of a Maintenance Trades Worker, capable of repairing, pressure cleaning, boardwalk repairs, and an assortment of various tasks for our local park sites. The ideal candidate has knowledge of minor construction, shop fabrication, painting, power tools, “handyman” skills and environmental stewardship. This crucial role starts out paying $19.13/hr (Step 1), benefits begin within 60 days of hire, and there are numerous opportunities for growth and advancement. Apply today and know that your experience serves the community for residents and guests alikeAbout the PositionRespond to work orders for repairs in county parks, involving carpentry, painting, concrete work, and/or irrigation.
Assist other staff in routine or corrective maintenance projects.
Manage materials, multiple work orders, purchasing cards, and maintain county equipment.
Evaluate and communicate potential issues (i.e. calendar conflicts, permitting, etc.).
Create and complete work orders, inspection reports, invoices, and p-card receipts.
Work Hours:
Full Time, 40 hours/week.
Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
Evenings, weekends, and/or holiday work may be required, depending on business needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Two (2) years of experience in the park related maintenance.
Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire.
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
