Job Title: Community DFC Coordinator

Job Summary:

Under direction of the State Prevention Specialist in the Office of Behavioral Health Prevention, the primary role of the Community DFC Coordinator is to collaborate with the Georgia DFC grantees to promote coordination of prevention services across Georgia. The DFC Coordinator will act as a liaison between DFCs and DBHDD Regional Prevention Specialist to assist in identifying opportunities for coordination of services and gaps in services and resources. 

The DFC Coordinator will also manage DBHDD contracts within assigned regional areas, provide leadership and orientation training for new RPSs to include working with DFCs. The DFC Coordinator will manage funding for procuring prevention services at the regional and community level. The DFC Coordinator will serve as a mentor and will apprentice new RPSs into their roles and duties working with DFCs and their communities. This position will plan meet regularly with DFC grantees and will plan and facilitate an annual DFC meeting with DBHDD/OBHPFG staff and prevention providers. This position will facilitate regular communication of services and resources. Management of prevention services contracts is done by supervising regional prevention services/programs through the monitoring of prevention contracting contract deliverables, payments, reporting, and evaluations. This position will also provide technical assistance to funded providers concerning prevention and will assist in the development of the community prevention infrastructure.

Other duties will include:

Assist in orienting new RPSs in development of statewide and regional prevention contracts, contact amendments, and use of contract submission tools such as the CMA and ECCO systems.

Assist in the development of their own regional prevention contracts and contract amendments.

Identifying, organizing, and disseminating information, of funding and prevention research, and training opportunities.

Promoting prevention services to enhance the health and well-being of individuals, families and communities in the region and statewide through a variety of strategies and activities.

Providing technical assistance and training to public and private organizations engaged in or interested in prevention activities, coordinating prevention efforts with existing prevention coalitions in the region.

Establishing and maintaining effective communication and cooperative working relationships with other regional staff, state staff, other agencies, community-based organizations, and local groups and providers.

Providing training and technical assistance to prevention providers on state web-based reporting systems.

Planning and hosting an annual Drug Free Communities meeting with OBHPFG Providers and staff for networking and service collaborations. Develop and maintain lists of resources and contacts for services. Other duties as assigned.

Quarterly travel may be required
