About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Aquatics Center, Kirtland AFB, NM.

This position will be filled as a Flexible employment category. The tour of duty for this position will include weekends, holidays, evenings, and nights.

Position requires current Lifeguard Certification, First Aid Certification, and CPR Certification. These documents must be provided prior to appointment.

Duties

Continuously observes swimming area to ensure safety of patrons. Ensures the swimming area is open to patrons at scheduled times and only authorized persons are admitted to the area. Rescues swimmers in trouble, promptly administers first aid, and calls for medical assistance if and when needed. Warns swimmers of unsafe environmental or health conditions, and recommends closing swimming areas until safe conditions prevail. When working at pools, may operate water pumps and control chemical additives to ensure pool water meets specified standards. Ensures that diving boards are inspected frequently for cracks or loose matting, and that necessary repairs are made. May perform other related or incidental duties as assigned for the daily operation of the swimming area to include: cleaning of bath houses, wading pools, main pools, pool decks, beach areas, sunbathing areas, etc. If interested in applying for this position you may preview the online application:
