THE OPPORTUNITY

KFA is seeking a Project Manager and Engineer with a proven track record to lead project delivery and manage a team of engineers in our expanding drainage practice for the San Antonio market. This role calls for a candidate with a strong technical background in public sector projects and hands-on experience with entities such as the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, and regional authorities. In this dynamic position, the candidate will not only lead project initiatives but also serve as a Group Lead in the Drainage Practice with the responsibility of supervising a team of engineers.

The primary responsibilities for this role include:
  • Lead project delivery, managing personnel, budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client interactions.
  • Enhance our regional presence through business development, crafting compelling proposals, and delivering persuasive client presentations.
  • Cultivate the professional growth of the team, providing leadership, mentorship, and coaching to junior engineers.

Requirements:
  • PE License in Texas
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • 10+ Years of experience preferred in Municipal Drainage projects including planning, design and construction
  • Project management and Task Lead experience
  • Responsible for the supervision, development, and evaluation of engineering support staff.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS
  • Experience with either MicroStation or Civil 3D

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with advanced modeling software such as SWMM, HEC-RAS 2D, InfoWorks ICM
  • TCEQ Water quality design experience
  • GIS experience
  • Experience with FEMA modeling and mapping
  • Experience with channel design and stream bank stabilization
  • Certified Floodplain Manager
