Job Summary
AECOM is looking for a Sustainability Architect, with strong experience in LEED and sustainability to step into a fast growing role in the Washington DC area.

This role has strong potential for someone with drive and ambition to become a leader within our Washington DC group in the area of Sustainability.

This role is expected to start in October of 2022.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Working in a multidisciplinary in-house team or with consultants in a successful collaborative environment.
  • Responsible for coordinating with other professionals in the office for the completion of LEED or other rating system requirements.
  • Leading and promoting sustainable design on all projects through engagement with other architects and designers to elevate the overall design approach.
  • Working with sustainability leaders in the region to collaborate, implement regional initiatives, and consult/coordinate.
  • Working independently in the execution of work in architectural design, technical execution, and to achieve project's sustainability objectives.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture.

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Must be a US Citizen Due to nature of the work.
  • Hold a LEEP AP with Specialty credential from the USGBC. Preferred specialty includes BD+C and ID+C but other specialties will be considered
Preferred Qualifications
  • Licensed Architect with experience in sustainable design.
  • Prior experience of successful execution of LEED submittal process.
  • Application of knowledge in sustainability to projects in the office to address issues of resiliency, energy efficiency, and material selections.
  • Experience coordinating with other architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and civil engineers to achieve the necessary targets for sustainability and/or LEED levels depending on client direction.
  • Experience in Federal projects and an understanding of codes and standards required for a successful execution by the project team
  • WELL AP, Fitwel, BREEAM, Green Globes or other sustainable accreditation.
  • Strong graphic skills to include Adobe Suite.
