Position Overview: The Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities related to capital project planning, process engineering, continuous improvement, and maintenance and reliability within our manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Engineering Manager will lead a team of engineers and technical staff, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical coatings, rolled thin films, and a proven track record in engineering management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the engineering team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful execution of all engineering projects and initiatives.
  • Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of capital projects, ensuring alignment with company objectives, budget constraints, and timelines.
  • Drive process engineering efforts to optimize manufacturing processes, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, utilizing methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen to identify and eliminate process inefficiencies.
  • Manage maintenance and reliability programs, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all equipment and systems within the manufacturing facility.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and quality control, to support new product development and commercialization efforts.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of engineering activities and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to safety, quality, and environmental sustainability.
  • Prepare and present reports, proposals, and technical documents to senior management, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
  • Stay current with industry trends, advancements in technology, and best practices in engineering management, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and continuous improvement.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-7+ years of experience in engineering management within the chemical coatings or related industry, with a focus on rolled thin films.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading capital projects, process engineering, continuous improvement, and maintenance and reliability programs.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, with preference for coating and rolled thin film manufacturing, and related equipment and technologies.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a detail-oriented approach to work.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a commitment to fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to chemical coatings and manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and engineering software tools.
