Role

:

 Leadership in student management within a mini-school, with focusing on supporting both staff and students.

¿ Lead the Coordination of support for all students within the Mini School, including complex cases

¿ Assist the Mini School Principal in leading and managing the operations of the Mini School including the implementation of the Student Engagement and Wellbeing Policy. 

¿ Ensure consistency of policy application, documentation, processes and approach to student management and wellbeing across all roles in the Mini School.

¿ Provide mentoring to Mini School team members.

¿ Review Mini School achievement, attendance and student management data and make recommendations to the Mini School team regarding resulting actions.

¿ Develop and implement programs to support student connection to each other and the college, and in response to student voice and student data. 

¿ Embed House activities in the mini school. 

¿ Lead student transition and promotion within the mini school including implementation and management of relevant processes and procedures.

¿ Lead and implement the School Strategic Plan/AIP development and implementation with a focus on Student engagement and transition.

¿ Deputise for the Mini School Principal when required.

¿ Other duties as determined by the Mini School Principal. 

Junior School (only)

1. Manage the Transition program Year 6-7.

Middle School (only):

1. Manage the implementation and evaluation of the Hands-on Learning Program.

2. ACE Program Coordination:

· Develop and document policies and practices that uphold the rigour and integrity of the ACE Program.

· Co-ordinate the operation, development, documentation and evaluation of the ACE program.

· Provide advice and assistance to teaching staff allotted to ACE classes and coordinate the provision of appropriate Professional Development.

· Liaise with Domain Leaders regarding ACE staffing and ensure that appropriate teachers are allotted to classes.

· Publicise the ACE programs to the community and run community meetings as required.

· Ensure that the maximum number of ACE students participate in a vibrant and interesting range of extension activities.

· Assist ACE teachers to develop appropriately challenging curriculum and teaching methodologies.

Senior School (only):

1. Coordinate VCE processes and requirements including oversight of exam processes and all VCAA requirements.

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach and/or have demonstrated experience in the curriculum area(s) specified for the position.

VIT LANTITE

To be eligible for employment, transfer or promotion in the principal or teacher class a person must have provisional or full registration from the Victorian Institute of Teaching. In addition, from 3 August 2020, to be eligible for employment in the principal class or teacher class, a person who graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education program after 1 July 2016, must demonstrate that they have passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE) requirements. This condition is satisfied where the LANTITE requirement is part of the Victorian Initial Teacher Education program completed by the person.
