Summary

The incumbent serves as the Administrative Officer for Health Administration Service. He/she supports the Service Manager by determining appropriate course of action; advising and/or coordinating administrative policies, programs and operations.

Duties

The incumbent serves as the Administrative Officer for Health Administration Service. He/she supports the Service Manager by determining appropriate course of action; advising and/or coordinating administrative policies, programs and operations. The incumbent directs all administrative activities within the Service, implementing actions to ensure administrative requirements are met the incumbent assists and/or acts in behalf of the Service Manager in matters dealing with budget and fiscal management, strategic planning and program evaluation. In conjunction with the Service Manager, the incumbent is responsible for establishing short and long range goals for the Service that are consistent with goals of the Health Care System, VISN 7 and VA Headquarters. The incumbent ensures that all administrative requirements of the Service are met in order to facilitate effective and efficient delivery of administrative support to CAVHCS in meeting its mission. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that Health Administration Service is a flexible, continuous learning organization focused on excellence and customer service. The incumbent performance will be evaluated based on his/her level of success in meeting the goals and objectives of the Service. the outcome of service delivery, utilization of the High Performance Development Model: (1) Interpersonal Effectiveness - resolving conflicts, handling negotiations effectively, etc. (2) Customer Service, (3) Systems Thinking understanding the pieces as a whole; thinking in context; knowing how actions link with others in the organization; etc., (4) Flexibility/Adaptability accepting change quickly; handling multiple demands and tasks simultaneously, etc., (5) Creative Thinking; (6) Organizational Stewardship -providing service to individuals and the organization; demonstrating sensitivity to others and their needs, etc. Personal Mastery - assuming responsibility for self-development learning continuously, etc.; (8) Technical- displaying knowledge and skills to perform the work of the organization, understanding processes procedures, standards, methods, and new technologies, etc.
