Job Summary
AECOM is seeking a Civil Engineer, early to mid level to be based in Phoenix, AZ.

The position is expected to start immediately.

Responsibilities:
  • Serves as engineer on numerous projects.
  • Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
  • Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
  • Performs quality control reviews.
  • Participates in development of technical proposals.
  • Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule.

Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Initiate and create project designs and drawings/plans for transportation and/or civil design projects
  • Perform detailed design including preparation of complete calculation packages and development of details.
  • Guide drafting team for preparation of drawings from early stages of the design to the final contract plans.
  • Serve as a fully capable professional with minimal direction
  • Understand the importance of review and quality control and able to perform review of design calculations and drawings and specifications
  • Prepare and contribute in the development and implementation of technical approach in projects in collaboration with the Project Manager
  • Oversee the work of less experienced designers.
  • Meet with clients to ensure client needs are met
  • Develop estimates of technical efforts for projects
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred Qualifications
  • BS in Civil Engineering + 3 - 5 years of related experience
  • Experience designing highway/roadway systems
  • Previous design experience on transportation projects including Schematic Development and Preparation of Plans, Specifications and Estimates (PS&E)
  • Interest in Business Development/Client Relations
