The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) and Melbourne Water are seeking passionate individuals to join our dynamic team of Project Firefighters. Get ready to immerse yourself in thrilling fire management activities across Victoria's breathtaking National Parks, State Forests and Protected Public Land. But that's not all You'll also have the opportunity to support other emergency responses, including flood and storm incidents.

As a member of Forest Fire Management Victoria, located at over 80 workcentres throughout Victoria, you'll play a crucial role in safeguarding our precious natural landscapes. You'll collaborate with dedicated departmental personnel, skilled contractors and fellow Project Firefighters, creating lasting connections within our close-knit community. What you need to join us:

Hold a current manual Drivers Licence (Conditions A, I & V not acceptable for employment). Will be 18 years old as of 1 October 2024. Enjoy working outdoors and want to be part of a great team

When you become part of our team, you'll attend a minimum 2-week training camp to equip you with the skills you'll need. Upon successful completion, you'll earn the General Firefighter accreditation – a true badge of honour

These fixed term positions are available for a minimum of 22 weeks, typically spanning November to April, with various locations available throughout Victoria.

You'll have the chance to explore and protect stunning landscapes whilst earning a competitive salary ranging from $56,044 to $65,221 per annum, plus superannuation.
