Description

Operate computer and peripheral equipment to process data related to customer accounts and the customer billing process.

Requirements

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Analyze billing data for completeness and correctness.
  2. Assist in completing energy and water usage audits of meter readings to ensure accurate utility invoicing.
  3. Enter readings and close work orders to allow new and old customers to be added to and deleted from physical service addresses.
  4. Enter various customer information into the appropriate database used for establishing account numbers, tracking, and billing customers on a timely basis. Monitor database for errors or corrections and adjust database as necessary.
  5. Assist in checking nightly reports to ensure customer accounts are in balance, the end-of-day process has been completed, and the daily backups are ran properly.
  6. Observe peripheral equipment and error messages displayed on system console to detect faulty output or machine stoppage. Enter correct commands to adjust the error or stoppage and resume operations.
  7. Notify Senior Billing Analyst and/or supervisor of errors or equipment stoppage. Record problems that occurred, such as downtime and actions taken.
  8. Answer telephone calls to assist with questions and/or issues.
  9. Assist corporation employees from other departments by providing customer account information from databases.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with business-related course emphasis.
  • Minimum 6 months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience using IBM AS/400 system required.
OTHER:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and ability to use job-specific software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills emphasizing customer service and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, to work effectively and professionally with colleagues, managers, and corporation customers.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Perform basic and complex arithmetic calculations.
  • Excellent analytical, research and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively during periods of constraints.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours as necessary.
