Director of Pipeline Project Controls

Petroplan is recruiting for a Director of Pipeline Project Controls on behalf of a US-Based LNG company.

The role entails overseeing a comprehensive project controls function within designated areas of responsibility. Tasks may include but are not limited to cost estimation, project planning, progress tracking and reporting, budget management, resource planning, risk assessment, financial management, and invoice processing.

This position will report to the Senior Vice President or Vice President of Project Controls.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of project controls experience, including 7 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in major pipeline development, design, and construction.
  • Previous leadership of project controls for a major pipeline project.
  • Familiarity with project controls throughout development, front-end, and execution stages.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate progress and issues effectively to technical and management-level audiences.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, particularly in conveying complex issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, EcoSys, and other Project Controls tools.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrate leadership and commitment to Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) performance.
  • Manage and cultivate a team providing effective project controls support tailored to project needs.
  • Maintain awareness of project cost performance, analyze potential changes, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Support Change Management process, incorporating impacts into cost, schedule, Value of Work Done (VoWD), and forecasts.
  • Coordinate expenditure authorizations with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Accounting, and Management.
  • Ensure appropriate project controls tools are used and integrated across Company and Contractor systems.
  • Monitor and evaluate contractor performance regarding project controls throughout the contract duration, recommending corrective actions.
  • Manage communication between internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate data and analysis sharing as required.
  • Serve as the primary contact for project controls issues related to pipeline delivery.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, aggregating contractor's reports into integrated cost and schedule reports, and circulate to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Prepare project controls sections of bid specifications and review tender submissions.
  • Review contractor cost and schedule reports and suggest corrective actions.
  • Ensure capture of project close-out information for future cost estimating and scheduling.
