Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking an experienced an Entry-Level Geologist I for our Amherst, NY office. This position will support AECOM's remediation practice for complex sites.

This position is expected to begin November/December 2022.

Job Overview:
The Entry-Level Geologist will support our Remediation team both in the field and office. We are seeking motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in a full-time environmental remediation career. The responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
  • Conducting environmental field work, including collecting soil, groundwater, and remediation system data, groundwater sampling, fluid level gauging and oversight of field surveys, drilling, well installation, development operations and utility clearance for intrusive operations.
  • Field document preparation, field data collection, processing, and interpretation.
  • Supporting office tasks, including data analysis and report preparation.
  • Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
  • Travel to project locations including driving and overnight stays.
  • Position will require OSHA 40-hour hazardous site worker training.
  • Requires general familiarity within a broad field of scientific knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields.
  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Conducts analysis and investigation work obtained from a variety of sources.
  • Performs inspections and tests to ensure compliance.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Geological Sciences, or related field.
  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 40-hour certification a plus

  • Great oral and written communication skills


Additional Information:

  • Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

  • Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (Colorado locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $48-65k.
