Duties

This is a supervisory code 4 and the primary purpose of this position is to direct prescribed fire/fuels management program that includes fuels management activities and functions at the unit/tribal level. Provide professional guidance in the development and implementation of multiple resource objectives. Develop fuels treatment alternatives to support management decisions while adhering to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines. Provide input and recommend strategies for fuels and fire management. Participate in the development, review, and modification of prescribed fire plans. Implement and administer prescribed fire activities, wildland fire use, and fuels management activities and surveys. Monitor fire behavior, evaluate fire effects, identify potential problems, and take appropriate action. Assign work to lower graded staff based on priorities. Perform administrative leadership responsibilities.
