Job Description

Are you a motivated, self-directed individual looking to make a real impact? Join Selective‘s Information Technology department as a summer intern and work on essential teams like Application Delivery, Customer Experience, Cybersecurity, and Information Management. At Selective, IT is crucial for optimizing operations, enhancing customer service, and securing data, making it an exciting field for computer science students eager to apply their skills in a dynamic industry. You‘ll work directly with experienced professionals, gaining hands-on, relevant experience that will set you up for the future. As a summer intern, you will work directly with experienced professionals to gain hands-on, relevant experience. Please note, this is a hybrid position, therefore, applicants must be within commuting distance of our Branchville, NJ location.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, and support application solutions, providing production support and managing application operations;
  • Monitor and manage IT infrastructure, including tools, databases, and end-user computing services;
  • Or actively manage and monitor cybersecurity tools and systems, identifying and escalating security risks.
  • Ensure adherence to IT standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly to support business processes and resolve issues.
  • Work cross-functionally with peers and leaders to complete an Action Learning Project.

Job Qualifications

  • Must be a current college student majoring in Computer Science or a related field to qualify (rising juniors and seniors, preferred).
  • Be someone who takes ownership over work, has the ability to self-motivate and executes on delegated tasks.
  • Demonstrates an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
  • College credit can be earned depending on your institution‘s requirements.

Interns are paid hourly and compensation starts at $22.00 per hour.
