The Channel Strategy Portfolio Manager will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of the U.S. Distribution Strategy to drive sales growth through wholesale electrical distributors, catalog/online partners, and retailers. This position will focus on execution of our portfolio management strategies through conversions and exits from the portfolio of partners, closing gaps in our coverage by segment, geography, or capability/specialization. This individual will work closely with leaders across Channel Sales, the National Sales Force, Commercial Operations, and our lines of business.

Key activities include:
  • Lead and manage the execution of distributor conversions (onboarding), working with functional teams (both internal to SE and external at our distributors) to ensure success.
  • Prepare conversion plan for Day 1 & transition period, activating with key support teams so that all systems are ready for conversion on Day 1.
  • Participate and evaluate financial and operational information during due diligence (pre-conversion), presenting the business case and conversion plan to senior leadership.
  • Lead and manage the offboarding of any exited partners.
  • Manage interdependencies between functions so activities are prioritized and sequenced correctly during pre & post conversion.
  • Escalate issues requiring senior-level input so they are resolved quickly and effectively.
  • Deploy a conversion progress tracking and reporting process for all conversion leaders to follow.
  • Communicate performance against business plans to ensure achievement of targets and corporate goals and manage through channel / sales conflict.
  • Engagement in portfolio management strategy for U.S. Distribution network based on well-defined fact base.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Channel Managers and Regional Vice Presidents on channel management initiatives that support portfolio management strategies and programs.
  • Develop "Trusted Advisor" relationships, maintaining close contact and coordination with i) distributor principals and ii) regional/local sales management and sales teams, demonstrating effective executive communication.

Qualifications:
  • Business and/or Engineering education with +10 years' experience in Finance, Project Management, or Sales-including Channel Management in a Partner environment.
  • Experience with M&A, conversions/exits, and/or operational tools/process is preferred.
  • Strong program management skills to manage a successful conversion throughout the process.
  • Financial and analytical capabilities to discern the financial outcomes of a conversion/exit and make recommendations to improve the portfolio.
  • Sharp communication skills (written & verbal) with all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to ensure results through others.
  • Solid understanding of Construction, residential, and Industrial markets
  • Ability to thrive in a matrixed organization with a change agent, mission-based mentality.
  • Results orientated, intellectually curious, creative, and highly self-motivated.
  • Willingness to challenge conventional thinking.
  • Having an excellent understanding of Schneider Electric's internal systems, processes & escalations contacts relative to the electrical distribution channel is preferred.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with the objective being to deliver an optimal customer experience for both conversion and deauthorized (exits) stakeholders.
