Underwriter Trainee

Denver, Colorado, United States Farm Bureau Insurance - Colorado Full time

Description Essential Functions:

  • Observe Underwriters execute management and maintenance of accounts.
  • Examine documents, forms, reports and maps to determine degree of risk.
  • Write Field Representatives and Agents to obtain greater information, quote rates, and explanation of company policies.
  • Conduct account reviews with assistance from Underwriters.
  • Attend training sessions to further knowledge in field of insurance and underwriting.
  • Review and study underwriting manual, policy contracts and procedures to increase skillset in field.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Attend various meetings, conferences and seminars as requested or required.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree majoring in Agriculture, Business, Insurance, Risk Management or related field preferred.
  • Relevant combination of education and related business/insurance work experience may be substituted for Degree.

  • Ability to build strong customer relationships
