Summary

Works with all Rural Southwest New Mexico Integrated Urban Forestry Project (RSNMIUFP) internal and external stakeholders and leadership to assist in the fulfillment of the RSNMIUFP deliverables and reporting as described in the awarded project, and in support of the fulfillment of related internal and external administrative, reporting, and regulatory requirements.

Duties
Assists with all RSNMIUFP and institutional priorities including projects, programs, and grant opportunities including funded project and related.

Project manages and coordinates RSNMIUFP activities and requirements under the supervision and with the support of the RSNMIUFP Project Director including collaborations with academic, support services, and infrastructure departments at WNMU.

Acts as the liaison between and across the WNMU RSNMIUFP Arboretum Manager, sub awardee partner Gila Resource Information Project (GRIP) and the Youth Experiential Learning Coordinator as outlined in project narrative.

Project manages and coordinates RSNMIUFP communications across campus and externally including representation at critical institutional events and press and media releases relating to critical RSNMIUFP events and activities involving the public and surrounding communities.

Provides reporting support to the RSNMIUFP Project Director including budgetary expenditures, data analytics from activities, and USDA Forest Service requirements.

Reviews and edits RSWNMIUFP reporting and communications documents prior to final submission.
Represents RSNMIUFP, WNMU, and External Affairs at Urban Forestry events, conferences, and planning sessions.

Works with and supports the Vice President, External Affairs (EA) and RSNMIUFP Director to help ensure alignment of RSNMIUFP project goals and objectives with External Affairs and institutional goals and objectives.

Provides website and social media representation and support for RSNMIUFP and related functions.

Works directly with faculty and staff on RSNMIUFP collaborative activities including the support and coordination of the Urban Forestry stackable certificate program.

Coordinates administrative expenditure and reporting functions and administrative coordination/organization in support of the External Affairs Division, Vice President for External Affairs, RSNMIUFP activities, and the RSNMIUFP Project Director/Director.

Education/Background
Bachelor's degree required; Master's and/or advanced certification in project management or related preferred. Higher education experience managing at least two students preferred. Bilingual (Spanish and/or other language) preferred.
Job Knowledge
Demonstrated record of success in managing and supporting complex projects in a higher-education setting.

Ability to communicate across diverse stakeholders in higher education and externally, including students, staff, faculty, community, government organizations and NGOs.

Working Conditions/ Physical Demands (With or Without Accommodations)
Normal office environment. May be required to lift, push, and pull office equipment and materials.

Must be willing to travel locally, nationally, and internationally including a current passport and other travel documents such as vaccination requirements.

Must be prepared to work extra hours including weekends and holidays to meet grant, external funding, and project deadlines and reporting requirements.

Other Requirements
a. A valid New Mexico driver's license.
b. Must pass a Defensive Driving Course within 2 months of hire date.
