As a Recreations Rafting Tour Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our rafting tours, including planning, organizing, and executing trips for our clients. You will oversee leading a team of guides and ensuring that all safety measures are followed at all times. You will work closely with the sales and marketing team to develop tour packages that meet the needs of our customers while maximizing profits for the company.

About Wilderness River Adventures: We offer motor-powered and oar-powered white water rafting trips down the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon in AZ and calm water river trips around Horseshoe Bend in Glen Canyon in AZ.

  • Proactively react to business trends, e.g. labor, expenses and revenue opportunities
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, expenses, and supplies
  • Supervision of all rafting guides, front office staff, and bus drivers.
  • Approve all requisitions for supplies, equipment, and personnel
  • Develop, approve, and adhere to labor projections tied to labor standards
  • Support safety committee initiatives; meet or exceed annual OSHA frequency targets; execute monthly safety and environmental programs and inspections
  • Proactively address employee concerns
  • Uphold uniform standards
  • Lead and advocate guest service
  • Work directly with clients and vendors
  • Develop and maintain strong positive interdepartmental relationships
  • Challenge and develop departmental manager's and supervisor's management skills
  • Adhere to ARAMARK policies and procedures
  • Create, generate and review reports, i.e. rates, promotional offers, parts inventories and etc.
  • Insure satisfactory quarterly and annual NPS inspections.
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications:

Must have the ability to manage in a diverse hospitality environment with focus on client and customer services. The ability to manage and analyze a variety of problems including technical and guest service issues is essential.
Additional requirements include:

  • Superior organizational, time management and communication skills required.
  • Outstanding leadership skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Very good problem resolution techniques.
  • Solid financial skills and accountability.
  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of hospitality systems; Springer Miller Host, Micros systems highly preferred. Proficient computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook.
  • Must be familiar with all areas of compliance relating to operating a fuel dock.
  • Must be willing to work long hours, rotational shifts, weekends, holidays and have rotational days off.
  • P&L accountability and/or contract-managed service experience is required.
  • Ability to manage and maintain inventory/cost controls is required.
  • Ability to deal effectively with customers and other company personnel. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, guests or employees.
  • Very good knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and procedures. Ability to interpret and apply safety rules, operating, maintenance and procedure manuals.
