Global Trade Specialist \r
GLOBAL TRADE SPECIALIST – Oxnard, CA \r
PURPOSE \r

Manage the day-to-day interaction and coordination of the import/export of seed and non-seed (chemical, specialized, research) items entering/exiting the US.

This role is critical to delivering the business through ensuring Import and Export Operations meet compliance and customs requirements, are accurate and efficient, meeting customer and production demands.

Import of materials directly impacts production sites and Exports support foreign manufacturing sites as well as sales to end customers.

The position is on site M-F 8am-5pm. \r

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES \r
\tWith minimal supervision, perform Import/Export activities in compliance with Government rules and regulations, organizational policies, procedures, goals and objectives; \tResponsible for expediting the import/export process by liaising with regional Import/Export coordinators, Warehousing/Distribution, and Plant & Production planning; \tResponsible for coordinating logistics for import/export shipments (ocean, air, land, rail) working closely with freight forwarders, brokers, Transportation Contract managers and internal stakeholders; \tResponsible for ensuring all work is completed in a timely and compliant manner, adhering to all internal policies and government regulations; \tResponsible for ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with US and foreign customer; \tResponsible for auditing team members files to ensure files are maintained in audit-ready status; \tBe prepared to participate in an internal or external (USCBP/EPA) audits; \tResponsible and accountable for accurate, timely and compliant processing of all orders for assigned countries and/or product portfolio; \tEmployee must remain current on all applicable import/export regulations through formal training and self-guided initiatives; \tDevelop, maintain and train team members and stakeholders on Standard Operating Procedures associated with assigned portfolio; \tCollaborate cross-functionally, across divisions and internationally to identify and implement best practices and maintain a culture of continuous improvement; \tResponsible for being the key contact for foreign partners / customers; \tConduct import/export operations process training as required. \tResponsible for handling complex global trade accounts/trade lanes; \tWorking knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards related to APHIS, Customs and Border Protection, USDA and other government agency laws and regulations; \tBecome Subject Matter Expert for assigned business units; \tGood understanding of Bayer's product portfolio and production processes; \tPerform other duties and participate in projects as needed. \r

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following: \r

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS \r
\tBA/BS Degree; \tPrio work experience in Business Administration, Logistics, Manufacturing, International Commerece in Import or Export; \tAbility to read and write English with strong verbal and written communication skills; \tMust have the flexibility to work overtime when necessary. \r

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS \r
\tBA/BS Degree and 3+ years' experience OR equivalent work experience (7+ years) in Business Administration, Logistics, Manufacturing, International Commerce in Import or Export; \tExperience working in SAP or Global Trade system; \tStrong project management and excellent analytical skills; \tExperience with agricultural and / or chemical products. \r

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $62,500.00 to $93, Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).

Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. \r

This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant's location, market data/ranges, an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
